INTRODUCING KEDRUM BESS
A new battery energy storage system (BESS) is being proposed by Rosside Energy Ltd on behalf of RE Projects Development Ltd (REPD) on land near Ardonald, Cairnie, Huntly, AB54 4UB.
Kedrum BESS will be able to store and release energy from the electricity network. It will have a storage capacity of approximately 150 megawatts (MW) and provide energy security to the local grid during times of peak demand.
Kedrum BESS will offer energy security benefits, biodiversity and landscaping enhancements. Our technical team includes ecology, landscape and visual, noise, planning, and transport specialists who are helping us to design a sensitive and sustainable development.
Pre-Application Consultation Events
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended our consultation events on the 1st and 27th of October and shared their views on the proposal.
The First Consultation Event
We heard clear feedback regarding key local priorities, particularly around the proposed transport route, local flooding, fire and battery safety, and the visual screening of the site.

The Second Consultation Event
We are collating feedback following this event and will continue to refine plans where possible to reflect comments received during consultation.

A number of printed plans were also displayed at the event. These illustrate how the proposals have evolved as the design work has progressed and were intended to provide an overview of the ongoing work. As the proposals continue to develop, the layout has evolved from that shown on the Landscape and Drainage plans.
